How to remove the "SunxVM VirtualBox" control panel from Windows 7?
My virtual machine "Xubuntu 11.10 (64-bit)" was working fine. After installing VirtualBox 2.1.2 "x64" it. "For the most part, the only extra feature added to VirtualBox 2.1.2 is support for up to 4GB of virtual RAM.
Shared Folders. It is the name of the path. I have tried to leave all default values, including the settings on the guest systems.
It has also worked fine for the last week or so, and the VirtualBox User Guide doesn't mention anything about 32bit to 64bit compatibility.
I'd like to do this without having to reboot the host, as I'll be working on a number of systems, and rebooting is a pain.

I have noticed that when upgrading from VirtualBox 2.1.0. to 2.1.2. there is now a message from Oracle (titled "Use an exclusive install for the Oracle VM VirtualBox 2.1.2") on the desktop saying "This installer was created for x86 machines, and may not work on your 64-bit machine". I can't see why it should say that, but then again it did not on 2.0.6, but I upgraded anyway. There may be problems from 2.1.0, as I don't know if 2.1.2 works better with 64-bit Windows 7.
There is a chance that there is a compatibility issue between the two versions (64-bit 2.1.0. and 32-bit 2.1.2. of VirtualBox), which would explain the message you have seen. To test the compatibility: go to "VirtualBox"->"Settings" and try both "Use an exclusive install" and "Use an automatic install" for the installer. (This is not related to the direct question you asked, but I think it may be of interest to you.)
